so we celebrated our last anniv before going abroad! our 20th anniv *hearts*

1 year and 8 months locker...otherwise known as the 600yen locker...coz i intelligently left stuff in the locker which really pissed haichu off for like 10 seconds...hahaha he looked like a volcano about to erupt but he quickly fizzled over and took full advantage of the situation to laugh at me...

waiting for sunset @ roppongi mori tower :) the view is mch much better than tokyo tower! :)

as part of tanabata *festival* in japan :)

and then this fantastic dinner at this hongkong place @ roppongi hills...

we decided to be a little lavish ;)

and splurged on this whole chinese dinner course with plenty of good food ;)

my dear seems to have gotten over his seafood allergy, ever since he downed all sorts of stuff from shrimp to crab meat to hotate and stuff @ dinner

i've never heard haichu laugh so much and so hard within such a short time :)

it was such a great anniv! :)

we're at that point where we really wanna make everyday special, since we have just this much time left. but at the same time there's the everyday grind of reports, classes...

i can't believe im actually gonna leave this dorm for good in like just a few weeks time...but i guess you get desensitized after a while...all the movement and stuff.

back in high school, leaving for uni was such a big thing. but now that you've gotten used to packing and moving, the attachment is not so great. hmmmmm... i wonder...

pot of roses that cost...a startling 10,500 yen!! that's like at least 100 bucks...and that pot fits in my palm! dinner with laura :) sushi place. tried ootoro for the first time and its so good i swear by it now! great company, great talk, great food, great bargains!

i have yet to get my OFFICIAL letter of acceptance from oxford, but i've already chosen my classes...how does that work!?

if all goes well, will be doing my primary in anthropology of gender, and a secondary in govern & politics in western europe! wheehee...i hope for hilary term i'll be able to do literature...haha but i don't actually know how it works...

can put A4 size stuff...and the middle portion is like a bag with multiple compartments so that your bag is never messy! heehee

every once in awhile in life, don't you stall and decide the direction you want to head in next? i wonder if this signifies that you've arrived at the goal you decide on previously, a new milestone in your journey? and then from here, you must throw your sights a bit further and say, hmm a little bit to the west? east? south? perhaps the process of always moving forwards

recently a spate of events have brought about my midlife crisis *chuckles* albeit a bit early, but nevertheless pertinent :) there must be so much more than earning money, and yet bread and butter issues cannot be ignored. perhaps then, the ideal situation would be a combination of good pay and a meaningful career.

it must be more than a coincidence that the tutorials i want commenced in 2007, the post i saw in my post-bond years is related to the same field, and so forth. i've came across so many books, articles, job postings, decisions that repeated the same thing "find meaning in your life...your meaning" and meeting yoshida san showed me that one can, and one must, commit to meaningful and inspiring work.

ruth benedict once said "the trouble with life isn't that there is no answer, it's that there are so many answers. There's the answer of Christ and of Buddha, ...of Browning, Keats and of Spinoza...of Kant and of Theodore Roosevelt. By turns their answers fit my needs. And yet, because I am I and not any of them, they can none of thm be completely mine."

with three weeks left to this semester, i must say that it has been a very enriching and fulfilling one. a journey of great self-discovery, repositioning goals and much needed rest for the long journey ahead. :)
